My name is Ricky Hicks and joined the Franklin Park family as the School Counselor during the 2020-2021 school year. I am a first year School Counselor; however, I bring a wealth of leadership knowledge in personal relationship and cooperative team building. My primary focus here at Franklin Park as a School Counselor is:
- Assisting students with their social, emotional, and educational development
- To provide the needed support to develop positive self-concepts and the motivation necessary for learning
- To serve as a resource to students, parents, teachers and administrators
My ambition as a school counselor is to help each student work to their potential and also to assist parents and teachers in achieving this goal. I feel that structured sessions and implementation of techniques such as play therapy, has produced positive results and opened lines of communication between students. I believe all students have the ability to excel and together we can achieve great things.
